Influencer or Innovator?

Influencer or Innovator?

Most of us are spending lots of time on social media these days. Have you been noticing the difference between influencers and innovators?

Influencers share what they like, what they feel is important, or what’s trending.

There’s nothing wrong with that, however, innovators take it a step further.

They are the ones coming up with ideas to help people develop new business models, unique solutions, volunteerism ideas, and innovative concepts to help propel their audience forward—especially during challenging times.

Do you notice the difference? One shares their opinions and preferences, the other is doing the work to promote advancement with (probably) a lesser regard to their number of followers, shares, or hashtags—after all, there is only so much time in a day.

Are influencers contributing to your well-being or their own? The influencers I admire are innovators as well. Do the work. Leadership has no significance if it means

“follow me” blindly; do what I do; like what I like. The thought-leaders who attract me as a follower are offering something more. What are your views on this?
