Paralyze Resistance with Persistence
"Paralyze resistance with persistence” –Woody Hayes*
As we tentatively move along into the fall, I think it’s safe to say that we have all had some paralyzing junctures this year. There were moments (or months, depending on how you look at it) in which we were stopped in our tracks. At a standstill. Talk about paralyzed resistance!
Progression has been slow and steady. As September rolls on, we begin to realize that we are in the final stretch of 2020. It’s a good time to stop and reflect. Sometimes, change is hard and we are inclined to try and resist it. But I like Coach Hayes’ choice of words. Paralyze the resistance with persistence. It doesn’t sound like a fast process, does it? But persistence wins the game.
* Woody Hayes served as the head coach at Denison University, Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and Ohio State University, compiling a career college football record of 238 wins, 72 losses, and 10 ties. Wikipedia
